Crypto Trading Bots 2026 — Updated

Before we start

A note on transparency

This comparison is published by CryptoScanRobot — and yes, we include ourselves in it. That means you should read our self-assessment with the same skepticism you would apply to any vendor writing about their own product. We have done our best to be fair, to cite verifiable sources, and to be genuinely honest about where the established players beat us. Where competitor pricing or features are mentioned, they reflect publicly available information as of July 2026 — always verify on each vendor's own site before subscribing.

We wrote this because most "best crypto bot" articles are affiliate listicles that rank whoever pays the highest commission. We think you deserve better: real numbers, real architecture differences, and the actual math of what these tools cost you per year. Let's get into it.

The framework

The seven criteria that actually matter

1
Custody & security architecture
Who holds your API keys, and what happens if they get breached?
2
Pricing & total annual cost
Not the headline price — the real 12-month number.
3
Transparency of results
Can you verify performance claims independently?
4
Strategy & automation depth
What can the bot actually do?
5
Exchange coverage
Where can you trade?
6
Trial & entry friction
How much do you risk before you know if it works?
7
Ease of use
Can a non-developer actually run this?
The contenders

Five bots, profiled honestly

3Commas — the established giant

Founded: 2017, Tallinn, Estonia · Users: ~1.8M registered · Exchanges: 14–18+ · Pricing: from ~$29/mo (Starter) up to ~$99/mo (Pro); annual billing ~25% cheaper

The most widely used commercial bot platform in the world. DCA, Grid, Options bots, the excellent SmartTrade terminal, TradingView signal integration, and a strategy marketplace where you can copy other traders' configurations. Polished UI, working mobile app, years of operational track record.

Strengths

Feature breadth, marketplace, brand trust, mobile app, multi-exchange dashboard.

Weaknesses
  • Security history. 3Commas suffered a publicly reported API key breach in December 2022 that led to unauthorized trades on user accounts, and a related class action has been reported in 2026. To be fair: this is a structural risk of every cloud-hosted bot where keys live on the vendor's servers — but 3Commas is the one where it actually happened at scale.
  • Feature gating. The entry plan is limited; the features you actually want (more active bots, full SmartTrade) push you toward $49–99/mo tiers.
  • Subscription economics: at $59/mo ($708/yr), a $10,000 portfolio needs a 7%+ gross annual return just to pay the subscription.

Cryptohopper — the marketplace ecosystem

Founded: 2017, Amsterdam, Netherlands · Users: ~1M · Exchanges: 12–15+ · Pricing: from ~$19–24/mo (Explorer) to ~$49–59/mo (Adventurer) and ~$99/mo (Hero); marketplace signals extra

The broadest ecosystem in the category: strategy marketplace, signal subscriptions, AI-assisted configuration, paper trading, and a large community. If you want to buy a ready-made strategy from a third-party seller, this is the biggest catalog.

Strengths

Marketplace depth, community, AI config tools, wide exchange support.

Weaknesses
  • Marketplace curve-fitting. A large catalog of backtested strategies means a large catalog of overfit strategies. Past performance on a marketplace card is not a reliable predictor.
  • Shortest trial in the category — 3 days (some sources report 7). That is not enough time to evaluate a trading system through different market conditions.
  • Real cost creeps: the plan you want plus paid signals lands most active users at $50–80/mo.
  • Same structural custody note as all cloud bots: your API keys sit on their infrastructure.

Bitsgap — the grid specialist

Founded: 2017, Estonia · Users: 500K+ · Exchanges: 15–17+ (including DEX support via AsterDEX) · Pricing: Basic $29/mo ($23/mo annual), Advanced ~$86/mo, Pro ~$119–149/mo

The best grid bot implementation in the business, plus DCA, BTD (Buy The Dip), and the COMBO bot — a clever futures tool combining DCA entries with grid profit-taking at up to 10x leverage. AI-assisted parameter suggestions, TradingView charts built in, and an unlimited demo mode after the trial ends. Notably clean security record since launch.

Strengths

Grid/COMBO bots, futures accessibility, AI parameter suggestions, no reported security incidents, DEX support.

Weaknesses
  • Grid bots only work in ranging markets. In trending markets — which is most of crypto since 2020 — grids break below their range and sit on inventory. This is a strategy limitation, not a product flaw, but it matters.
  • No free tier; 7-day trial.
  • Pricing scales steeply if you want more than 2 active bots.

unCoded — the Swiss self-hosted outsider

Founded: Switzerland (ArrowTrade AG, Brig) · Model: self-hosted software · Exchanges: Binance only · Pricing: no subscription — 30% profit share (20% at community tier) + your own VPS at €7–15/mo

The philosophical opposite of the cloud bots: software you install on your own server, so API keys never leave your infrastructure. Spot-only micro-trading on Binance with a conservative, disciplined execution model. Their own honest comparison article (which inspired this one) is genuinely worth reading.

Strengths

Self-hosted custody model, performance-aligned pricing (they only earn when you profit), honest marketing.

Weaknesses
  • You are the sysadmin. Renting, securing and maintaining a VPS is on you — €84–180/yr in extra cost, plus your time and competence.
  • Binance spot only. No futures, no other exchanges.
  • Profit share scales against you as you succeed: 30% of a $5,000 winning year is $1,500 — more than any subscription on this list.
  • Very narrow strategy scope.
Our pick — full disclosure: this is us

CryptoScanRobot — the transparent newcomer

Founded: 2026, Norway · Model: personal cloud server per user (we provision it, you own it) · Exchanges: Binance + Kraken (spot & futures) · Pricing: $29/mo flat — first month 50% off ($14.50); 3-month plan $69.60 ($23.20/mo effective). Your private server is included in the subscription — no separate VPS bill.

CryptoScanRobot is the newest product on this list, and it was built to attack the two biggest structural problems in this category: custody architecture and unverifiable performance claims.

How it works: when you subscribe, a private, encrypted connector server is automatically provisioned for you. Your exchange API keys are stored only on your server, encrypted, and never touch our central infrastructure. Trade execution happens directly from your server to the exchange via your own IP. We provide the software, the setup scanner signals, and the market monitors — we cannot see your keys, your trades, or your balance. Same custody philosophy as unCoded, but without asking you to be your own sysadmin.

What's inside
  • Automated trading bot driven by a live setup scanner that grades opportunities A–F across top-volume, top-market-cap crypto — the bot trades only what you have explicitly selected, on templates you configure and save. No black-box strategies.
  • The Jacuzzi — a live market-sentiment monitor correlating crypto with DXY, oil, S&P 500, ETF flows and liquidation data, designed to show risk-on/risk-off shifts visually across timeframes.
  • Session-aware trading — London, New York, overlap and Asia session logic with weekday/weekend volume adjustment.
  • MTF trend confluence, protective order management (SL/TP1/TP2), and a paper-trading engine on live exchange data so you can verify everything risk-free first.
Radical transparency — our core differentiator

Our live paper-trading fleet runs on real exchange data and its results are publicly visible, unedited, at cryptoscanrobot.com/performance — updated continuously. As of 26 July 2026:

Simulated net P&L

Avg win / avg loss

Values measured since 20 July 2026. These are simulated (paper) results on live market data — not a promise of future returns, and not financial advice. But they are real, live, and you can watch them yourself instead of trusting a marketing page. No other bot on this list shows you its raw, unaudited live numbers.

Strengths

Self-hosted custody with zero sysadmin burden (server included & auto-provisioned), publicly verifiable live results, flat price with no feature gating, 14-day free trial with no credit card, session-aware automation, futures + spot on the two biggest venues.

Weaknesses — and we mean this honestly
  • New and unproven. We launched in 2026. 3Commas has nine years of track record; we have weeks. Our live performance page is young and will have losing periods — watch it long enough and you will see them.
  • Only two exchanges. If you need OKX, Bybit, Coinbase or DEX coverage today, we are not your tool (more integrations are on the roadmap).
  • No strategy marketplace, no copy trading. You configure your own templates — we deliberately do not sell you someone else's backtest.
  • No native mobile app — the portal is fully mobile-responsive in the browser, but there is no App Store download.
  • Small community. You are an early adopter, with everything that implies.

The honest math

The 12-month math, honestly

Assume a $10,000 trading account. Gross return scenarios vs. realistic annual platform cost (monthly billing, mid-tier where applicable):

PlatformPlatform cost / yearWeak year (+5% = $500)Standard year (+10% = $1,000)Good year (+25% = $2,500)
3Commas (~$59/mo)~$708−$208+$292+$1,792
Cryptohopper (~$49/mo)~$588−$88+$412+$1,912
Bitsgap ($29/mo)~$348+$152+$652+$2,152
unCoded (+VPS €120)30% of profit + ~$130+$220+$570+$1,620
CryptoScanRobot ($29/mo)$333.50 (first month $14.50)+$166.50+$666.50+$2,166.50
Two honest observations:
1. In a weak year, flat subscriptions eat your edge. That has always been true and applies to us too — it's the strongest argument for unCoded's profit-share model, and the strongest argument for not trading a weak market at all.
2. In decent years, the differences between flat-fee platforms come down to features and custody, not price — and at that point the questions become: who holds your keys, and can you verify their results?
Note that unCoded's column gets worse the better your year goes — that's the nature of profit share, and it's a fair trade for aligned incentives. Our bet is different: flat fee, self-hosted keys, and results you can watch live.
Decision guide

Which bot is right for whom?

Cryptohopper
You want the biggest marketplace and will copy-trade proven configurations.
Bitsgap
You want grid bots and DEX access with a clean security record.
3Commas
You want the most established all-rounder and accept cloud-key custody.
unCoded
You are a technical Binance-spot-only trader who wants full self-custody and will run your own VPS.
CryptoScanRobot
You want self-hosted key security without being a sysadmin, futures + spot on the biggest venues, a flat price with no feature gating, and a vendor that shows you its raw live numbers before you pay a cent — start with the 14-day free trial (no credit card, paper trading on live data), watch the live performance page, and decide with your own eyes.
Questions

FAQ

Is CryptoScanRobot financial advice?
No. We provide software, market monitors and a setup scanner. You choose what to trade, which templates to run, and whether to enable live execution. Nothing on the portal or in this article is investment advice. Always D.Y.O.R. — and never FOMO.
Are the performance page numbers real?
They are real paper-trading results generated by our test fleet trading live exchange data in real time — simulated execution, real market conditions, publicly visible and continuously updated. They demonstrate the engine's behavior; they are not a promise of your future returns.
Why only two exchanges?
Depth before breadth. Binance and Kraken cover the deepest liquidity and the most-used futures venues in retail crypto. More integrations are on the roadmap — but we would rather be excellent on two venues than mediocre on fifteen.
Why no strategy marketplace?
Because marketplaces sell backtests, and backtests are where overfitting goes to thrive. Our setup scanner grades live opportunities transparently (A–F) and shows you why — you stay in control of every parameter.
What happens if CryptoScanRobot (the company) disappears?
Your exchange account and funds are never with us. Your keys live on your own server. In a worst-case scenario you lose access to the software and signals — never your assets. That is the entire point of the architecture.

Don't take our word for it.
Watch the numbers live.

Start the 14-day free trial — no credit card, paper trading on live exchange data — and check the public performance page while you decide. Your keys never leave your own server.
